Every week, I speak to people who are done feeling stuck.
They’re tired of starting over every Monday.
They want more energy.
More confidence.
More strength.
And many of them decide right then and there
To take action and join us on their fitness journey.
They’re excited, committed and ready to roll.
But not everyone is doing metaphorical cartwheels to sign up.
Here’s what I often hear:
“It’s just not the right time…”
“Money’s a bit tight right now…”
“I need to speak to my partner first…”
Totally fair, right?
I mean, when you're in a relationship where everything’s shared, from bank accounts to weekend plans of course you want to get your partner on board.
Especially when you're about to invest in something as important as your health and happiness.
But here’s where things go a bit sideways.
Imagine this: You tell your partner you’ve found a program that feels different this time.
You’re hopeful, you're confident, it actually sounds doable, supportive, maybe even… fun?
And then they hit you with the classic:
“You're not spending that much on a gym! You can go to the local place down the road for £30 a month.”
Cue the slow-motion facepalm. 🤦♂️
Because here's the thing…
Most of the people who come to me have already been to those £30-a-month gyms.
And guess what?
They didn’t go!
Or they went once and never went back. Or they stared at the equipment, clueless and unmotivated, then went home and vowed to "try again next week."
We’ve all been there.
And as Einstein once said (pretty sure he wasn’t a PT, but he made a good point):
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
So let’s be honest…
What most people really need isn’t another cheap membership card gathering dust in their wallet.
They need:
That’s what helps our members finally break the cycle. That’s what turns “I’ll start Monday” into “I feel stronger every day.”
And if you're someone who already knows your way around the gym floor, is 100% self-motivated, and just wants a space to train? Cool. The £30 gym might be perfect for you.
But for those still stuck in the cycle, trying to save money by skipping support usually costs more in the long run:- mentally, emotionally, and yes, financially too.
So, to all the loving partners out there: if your other half is telling you they want this, they need this, please don’t shut them down with “but the other gym is cheaper.”
You’re not comparing apples to apples. You’re comparing a plastic knife to a full-blown toolkit.
Rant over. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
If we haven’t spoken yet, and you're curious whether this might be the right step for you…
